MYOFASCIAL RELEASE (MFR)
Myofascial release is a technique chiropractors use to release tension in the surrounding tissues of a joint to allow for effective manipulation at that specific joint. Trigger point therapy and Ischemic compression therapy are included within myofascial release technique to release tightness of tissues restricting motion or pulling the body out of alignment. This restriction will inhibit blood flow to the area, which will cause more contraction unless the area is treated. A patient that needs this technique will usually report excessive pressure on muscles or joints that produces pain in a specific area restricting his/her motion.
